Shipped 4 eBay Live features in 3 months after documenting and QA
Designed and scoped a MVP for Mobile Host Console, allowing sellers to go Live using their phone only
Selected as 1 of 3 intern projects presented directly to CEO Jamie Iannone and design leadership team.

The three side projects that I shipped
Project 1: Live Indicator Pills & Event Tiles
To elevate the visual quality and improve contrast over Live Event thumbnails, the team transitioned the live indicator from a solid bright green (Kiwi) pill into a semi-transparent dark pill featuring a pulsating green live dot, improving image readability while retaining prominent live status.

While the core visual styling was established by a Principal Designer, I owned the component architecture, logic, and handoff documentation to integrate the new pill into eBay's design system.
Context-Aware State Logic: Designed placement-based variants — stripping "LIVE" text in favor of pure viewer counts inside the eBay Live Hub, while keeping the explicit "LIVE" text + viewer count on external discovery surfaces (ie., Homepage).
Component Sizing Rules: Defined dynamic component triggers (Small vs. Large pill) using a >299px tile width threshold to maintain legibility across varying viewport sizes.
Nested Tile Architecture: Re-architected the parent
Live Event Tilecomponent to incorporate the updated pill sub-component without breaking downstream instances across design files.Specing & Handoff: Authored component rules, variant behaviors, and state guidelines to align cross-functional design and engineering teams for production implementation.
Project 2: Cross-Platform Componentization: In-Stream Chat Input Field

I engineered a responsive, unified chat input component system across Mobile Native, Mobile Web (mWeb), and Desktop Web (dWeb).
Responsive Viewport Scaling: Built adaptive layout rules to optimize input real estate—locking container height with internal text scrolling on constrained mobile screens, while allowing dynamic vertical expansion on desktop web.
Multiline Behavior: Defined exact container height steps and line-wrap rules from 1 to 4+ lines, establishing clear overflow boundaries to keep the input interface from obscuring the live stream.
Production State & Rule Specs: Authored a complete component matrix covering placeholder, active focus, multiline expansion, max-character overflow, and send trigger states for engineering handoff.
Project 3: 0-to-1 Feature Design: In-Stream @Mentions

I led the end-to-end design for eBay Live’s first-ever interaction that allows viewers and sellers to mentions other viewers to drive direct buyer-to-buyer and host-to-buyer engagement.
Visual Hierarchy: Designed a treatment that visually distinguished
@mentioned users from rest of the commentDynamic Reflow & Multi-Tag Rules: Established line-wrap and truncation behavior across different comment lengths, ensuring multiple tagged users reflow gracefully without clipping text.
Overlay Legibility: Standardized typography, badge padding, and background UI treatments to guarantee accessibility over both solid chat panels and active video streams.
Cross-Functional Handoff: Authored edge-case specs, character limits, and QA documentation to align Product, Design, and Engineering prior to build.

Mobile Host Console: Designed a way to allow sellers to go live, mobile only
Unifying live stream management and camera controls into a single, touch-safe mobile viewport for sellers.
Single-Viewport Design: Consolidated dual-device stream controls (inventory management, queue, and live chat) onto a single mobile camera screen, unbinding sellers from desktop setups to unlock mobile-first stream formats (e.g., trade shows, pop-ups).
Rapid AI Prototyping: Used Vercel (V0) alongside Figma to build interactive code prototypes, validating touch ergonomics and gesture physics early with engineering partners.
